Job description
We are pleased to be working with a strong and forward-looking secondary academy in the Nottingham area that is seeking to appoint an Art Teacher for January. This is a full-time, permanent position, teaching across Key Stages 3–5, including GCSE and A-Level Art / Fine Art / Mixed Media. About the Role You will deliver inspiring and technically ambitious art lessons across multiple year groups, helping students develop artistic skills, aesthetic awareness, and creative independence. The Art & Design department encourages experimentation, cross-media practice, and student-led projects. There is also scope for you to lead extra-curricular clubs, exhibitions, and community art partnerships to enrich students’ learning beyond the classroom. Candidate Profile We are looking for someone who: Holds QTS, PGCE, or an equivalent teaching qualification Has strong subject knowledge and enthusiasm for Art, Design & Fine Art Can teach GCSE and/or A-Level (or show clear potential to develop this) Is creative, well organised, supportive, and committed to helping students excel Has the legal right to work in the UK The School This academy is part of a larger trust and serves a large, diverse student body of around 1,700 pupils aged 11–18. In recent years the school has reported outstanding A-Level results, with nearly 47% of A-Level grades awarded at A in its top performing subjects *, and a strong overall pass rate in A*–C grades. Art students benefit from dedicated, well-lit studios, gallery display areas, and access to digital media suites and workshop spaces. The school places strong emphasis on arts integration, with opportunities for students to exhibit work and engage in cross-departmental creative projects. Salary & Benefits Remuneration follows the standard MPS / UPS scale, with room for enhancement based on experience and subject specialism.
