Job description
A well-established 11–18 secondary school in Nottingham is seeking an ambitious and reflective Early Career Teacher of History to join its Humanities faculty. The school has a strong reputation for consistent behaviour systems, clear leadership direction and a supportive induction programme for new teachers. The Role This post is ideally suited to an ECT seeking a structured start to their teaching career. You will teach History across KS3 and KS4, delivering well-planned lessons supported by established departmental schemes of work. You will: • Teach History across KS3 and GCSE • Develop clear routines for classroom management and assessment • Contribute to shared curriculum planning and moderation • Receive structured mentoring and weekly coaching • Engage in professional studies sessions as part of your ECT programme The school operates a carefully designed induction framework to ensure new teachers build confidence, subject expertise and classroom consistency. The History Department History is part of a cohesive Humanities faculty. The department follows a clearly sequenced curriculum from Year 7 through to GCSE, with shared resources and centralised assessments.
