Job description
A high-performing and inclusive 11–18 secondary school in Staffordshire is seeking a motivated and reflective Early Career Teacher of Geography to join its successful Humanities faculty from September 2026. This is the ideal first post for an ambitious ECT looking for a supportive school that invests in its teachers’ long-term development. The school, rated Good with Outstanding features by Ofsted, has a strong record of helping new teachers progress into leadership roles. The Department The Humanities department is one of the school’s flagship faculties. Geography is taught in a modern, purpose-built block equipped with digital maps, GIS technology and flexible classrooms designed for collaborative learning. Teachers work closely together to design engaging schemes of work that balance knowledge-rich content with enquiry-based fieldwork. Students here develop a genuine curiosity about the world. Regular field trips — from local river studies to coastal investigations in Wales — bring learning to life. The department also leads sustainability projects and contributes to the school’s Eco Council, connecting classroom learning with real environmental action.
