Job description
A highly regarded independent senior school in Cambridge is seeking an accomplished and enthusiastic Teacher of History to join its Humanities faculty. The school is academically ambitious, with a strong Oxbridge and Russell Group progression record, and is known for combining rigorous scholarship with outstanding pastoral care. History is one of the school’s most successful subjects, with consistently strong GCSE and A-Level results and high uptake at Sixth Form. Students are articulate, engaged and confident in debate, creating an intellectually stimulating classroom environment. The Role You will teach History across KS3–KS5, including A-Level. The curriculum encourages depth of analysis, source evaluation and independent research. Small class sizes allow for seminar-style discussion, extended essays and meaningful feedback. You will also be encouraged to contribute to academic societies, model United Nations, debating or enrichment lectures. The Department The Humanities faculty is collaborative and scholarly. Schemes of work are carefully sequenced, and staff are supported in maintaining high academic standards while allowing room for intellectual creativity.
