Job description
An Outstanding Sixth Form in Harrow is seeking a permanent, full-time Teacher of Religious Education, starting January 2026. This role offers an opportunity to teach within a high-performing Humanities faculty. About the School This school has achieved and sustained an Ofsted Outstanding rating, known for its exceptional Progress 8 scores and dedication to student holistic excellence. The RE department is a high-profile faculty, promoting rigorous academic study of world religions, philosophy, and ethics. The school environment is supportive and collaborative, emphasizing staff wellbeing and fostering a culture where intellectual debate and moral reasoning are highly valued. Responsibilities You will deliver stimulating and rigorous instruction across Key Stages 3, 4 (GCSE), and 5 (A-Level) (e.g., Philosophy & Ethics). Your focus is driving high attainment and fostering sophisticated textual analysis, critical philosophical thinking, and respectful dialogue. You will contribute to the rich PSHE and values programmes within the school. You are expected to maintain the department's track record of excellent A-Level results and support students in university applications for related subjects. Requirements You must hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS). You must have passed your induction period and have a strong record of teaching success, particularly in RE/Philosophy & Ethics at A-Level. You must have the right to work in the UK. You must hold a Degree in Theology, Philosophy, RE, or a closely related field.
