Job description
EICR Electrician – Training Available for the Right Candidate Social Housing project. Level 3 or 2391 (or EAL equivalent) required, Location: Cambridge Let’s be honest: not all electrical jobs are created equal. Some are “swap a socket and call it a day.” This isn’t one of those. We’re looking for electricians who take pride in making things safe, ticking every compliance box, and leaving behind wiring that would make even the IET smile. We’re ECS, an award-winning compliance team keeping homes, housing associations, public sector sites, and commercial buildings safe. We combine industry know-how with modern tech so inspections run smoothly, reports make sense, and the only disruption is deciding who makes the tea. Why you might actually want this job: • A salary of £36,000 to £40,000 DOE, plus benefits and a company vehicle (your mobile HQ) • You get to say “I keep thousands safe” at parties, which is cooler than it sounds • Work on social housing and public sector projects that actually matter • Up-to-date kit that does the hard graft for you (no stone-age testers here) • Competitive pay, solid team, and room to grow without drowning in buzzwords What you’ll actually be doing: • Carrying out Electrical Installation Condition Reports (EICRs) — the proper, detailed kind • Spotting and fixing C1 and C2 faults on site • Installing and issuing Electrical Installation Certificates (EICs) when required • Keeping everything compliant with the regs (18th Edition is your bedtime reading, right?) • Managing your own workload like a pro, while being part of a wider crew • Travelling up to an hour to reach different sites when needed What we’re ideally looking for: • Any Level 3 qualification in Electrical Installation • 18th Edition qualified • Experience in electrical fixed wire testing and remedial work • Experience working in social housing (or similar) • Organised, self-motivated, detail-focused • Good communicator who doesn’t glaze people over with jargon • Someone who treats health & safety as gospel, not a suggestion Don’t tick every box?
