Job description
English ECT required January 2026 Mixed secondary school based in Milton Keynes English ECT to join a nurturing and well-structured English department Our Client is seeking a motivated English ECT to join a welcoming secondary school in Milton Keynes. The successful English ECT will deliver KS3 and KS4 English with full support from experienced subject mentors, structured planning guidance and a carefully sequenced curriculum. This role is ideal for an ECT looking to build confidence in classroom practice, assessment and behaviour management within a highly supportive environment. School Information This 11–18 school educates approximately 1,300 students and has established a strong reputation for academic progress, calm learning environments and excellent pastoral care. The English department follows a well-planned curriculum focused on literacy development, extended writing and confident communication. Modern classrooms are equipped with digital learning resources, shared schemes of work and structured assessments that support both teacher development and student progress. The school places a strong emphasis on ECT development through reduced timetables, weekly mentor meetings, regular observation cycles and tailored CPD.
