Job description
Drama Teacher required January 2026 Independent mixed school based in Colchester Drama Teacher to join a creative, performance-driven arts department Our Client is looking for a Drama Teacher to join a high-performing independent school in Colchester. The role involves teaching Drama from KS3 through Sixth Form and contributing significantly to school productions, workshops, live showcases and theatre partnerships. School Information This independent school educates around 820 pupils and is highly regarded for its outstanding performing arts provision. Facilities include a professional-standard theatre, fully equipped lighting and sound rigs, black box drama studios, costume stores, technical booths and rehearsal rooms. The school hosts annual drama festivals, collaborative productions with external companies and performing arts masterclasses led by industry professionals. Staff describe the atmosphere as creative, energetic and genuinely collaborative, with leadership that values the arts as a core part of student experience. Teachers benefit from excellent resources, small classes, and comprehensive CPD around devising, directing and script work.
