Job description
A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a proactive, organised and scientifically confident Science Technician to join a high-performing secondary school in Reading. This is a full-time, permanent position beginning January 2026, ideal for someone with strong laboratory experience and a passion for supporting hands-on science education. Job Overview You will support the Science Department in preparing, maintaining and organising practical resources across Biology, Chemistry and Physics. The role includes setting up experiments, ensuring apparatus is safe and ready for use, maintaining stock levels, and assisting staff and students during practical work. The school is seeking a technician who is reliable, safety-conscious and able to work efficiently within a busy, well-resourced department. The School This Reading school is known for its excellent behaviour, strong academic results and outstanding commitment to STEM learning. The Science team is friendly, supportive and well-coordinated, with experienced teachers and strong leadership. The labs are modern, spacious and fully equipped, enabling a forward-thinking approach to scientific learning.
