Job description
Are you an organised, proactive, and detail-driven individual looking to contribute to a successful secondary school environment? A thriving and well-established Secondary School in Cambridge is seeking a committed School Administrator to join their support staff team from January . This is an excellent opportunity for someone who values working in a fast-paced, student-focused environment where your administrative strengths truly support the smooth running of the school. School Administrator Role Full-time position, term-time plus inset days Immediate January start Key role supporting daily operations, attendance, communication, and data entry Clear progression opportunities within the school office team School Information This school prides itself on professionalism, calm systems, and consistent routines. Staff describe the workplace as well-run, efficient, respectful, and positive . You will be joining a strong administrative team who work collaboratively to ensure seamless communication between parents, staff, external agencies, and the senior leadership team. The school uses robust MIS systems, electronic communications, parent platforms, and digital attendance structures — full training is provided for new staff. Leadership prioritises workload balance, staff wellbeing, and providing clear structures that help staff succeed. Responsibilities Managing front-of-house communication, including reception duties Updating student records, attendance data, and safeguarding information Preparing letters, reports, and communication for staff and parents Supporting the Senior Leadership Team with administrative tasks Coordinating meetings, schedules, room bookings, and school events Handling queries with professionalism and confidentiality Experience & Qualifications Strong IT literacy (SIMS/Arbor experience ideal but not essential) Excellent written and verbal communication Ability to prioritise workload and remain calm under pressure Previous school admin experience desirable High levels of professionalism, confidentiality, and attention to detail Salary Paid on the school’s support staff scale, dependent on experience.
