Job description
Role Status & Location Position: Site Manager (Support Staff). Sector: Outstanding Ofsted-rated Secondary School. Location: Durham (North East). Start Date: Permanent, full-time role commencing January 2026. The Opportunity & School Profile Join an Outstanding secondary school in Durham committed to providing a safe and high-quality environment. This is a vital, hands-on role requiring a dedicated individual to manage the security, cleanliness, and maintenance of the school premises, working autonomously under the direction of the senior leadership team. Core Responsibilities & Scope Operational Security: Key holder responsibility, managing alarm systems, and securing the premises outside of school hours. Maintenance: Carrying out minor repairs, decorative work, and coordinating larger maintenance works with external contractors. Teamwork: Working collaboratively with teaching staff to set up facilities for events, and ensuring the premises are ready for the daily school schedule. Compensation & Benefits Contract: Full-Time, Permanent (52 weeks per year). Salary Range: £33,000 - £39,000 per annum, depending on experience. Essential Requirements: Strong practical skills (DIY, maintenance) and a proactive approach to health and safety (e.g., basic H&S qualification). Support: Generous Local Government Pension Scheme (LGPS) and a highly supportive school environment.
