Job description
A prestigious independent school in York is seeking an experienced and professional Site Manager to join its estates team as soon as possible. This is an excellent opportunity to oversee a high-quality school site within a structured and well-resourced independent setting known for its excellent facilities and high standards. The school places strong emphasis on presentation, compliance, and operational excellence. The Site Manager will take a leading role in maintaining the estate to the highest possible standard. Key Responsibilities Managing day-to-day site operations, maintenance, and security Ensuring compliance with health & safety legislation and statutory requirements Supervising site staff and coordinating external contractors Overseeing planned maintenance schedules and minor capital projects Managing facilities budgets and reporting to senior leadership Maintaining detailed compliance documentation and inspection records Supporting school events, lettings, and operational needs The Ideal Candidate Will Have Significant experience in site, estates, or facilities management Strong understanding of compliance, health & safety, and building management Experience managing teams and overseeing contractors Excellent organisational and project management skills A professional, proactive, and detail-oriented approach This independent school in York offers excellent facilities, supportive leadership, and a professional working environment where operational standards are a priority.
