Job description
A permanent, full-time Design & Technology Teacher is sought by an Outstanding-rated School in Harrow, starting January 2026. This is a superb role in an innovative department with state-of-the-art facilities; the school is specifically seeking a specialist in either Food, Textiles, Resistant Materials, or Product Design. About the School The DT department here is highly prized, supported by strong funding and excellent workshop/studio spaces. The school runs like a well-oiled machine, known for its disciplined yet creative student body. Leadership provides clear expectations and strong support, allowing teachers to focus on innovative projects and skills-based learning. Responsibilities The Design & Technology Teacher will deliver rigorous practical and theoretical tuition across Key Stages 3, 4 (GCSE), and 5 (A-Level). The teacher is responsible for driving high attainment and promoting advanced skills in their area of specialism (Food, Textiles, Resistant Materials, or Product Design). They must contribute to the maintenance of equipment and safety programmes relevant to their specialism. The Design & Technology Teacher is expected to contribute to consistent high academic outcomes and participate proactively in curriculum planning. Requirements Holds or is soon to obtain Qualified Teacher Status (QTS). Has the right to work in the UK. Holds a Degree or has experience teaching Design & Technology, with a specialism in Food, Textiles, Resistant Materials, or Product Design. Benefits Excellent salary paid on the Outer London Teachers' Pay Scale (MPS/UPS), commensurate with experience. Enrolment in a generous pension scheme with substantial employer contributions.
