Job description
This prestigious independent school is seeking a talented and highly committed Teacher of Design Technology to join their thriving DT department on a full-time, permanent basis from January . The school is renowned for its academic excellence, exceptional facilities, and strong holistic ethos, offering an environment where both staff and students are genuinely supported to excel. The successful candidate will teach DT across KS3–KS5 , with specialisms in Resistant Materials, Product Design, and 3D Design welcomed. The school has invested heavily in its Design & Engineering facilities, including a suite of workshops, CAD/CAM labs, laser cutters, 3D printers, CNC machinery, and industry-standard software. The DT department works closely with Art, Computer Science, and STEM, giving teachers ample opportunities to develop cross-curricular projects and broaden student engagement. This role would suit an ambitious teacher who values high standards, structured progression, and the freedom to design enriching, challenging schemes of work. Experienced teachers and strong ECTs will be considered, provided they demonstrate the ability to inspire students, deliver consistently high-quality lessons, and contribute to the wider life of the school. January Start Full-time, Permanent Design Technology Teacher Role Teaching DT to KS3/4/5 Independent School MPS/UPS or School’s Own Salary Scale (Highly Competitive) School Information The school offers a calm, purposeful working environment where staff are trusted and respected. Experience and Qualifications DT Degree or a related discipline PGCE/QTS Strong subject knowledge of DT KS3–KS5 Experience with Resistant Materials, Product Design and/or Graphics desirable Ability to contribute to extracurricular clubs, competitions, and enrichment Salary The salary will be paid in line with the school’s own generous pay scale, significantly above the maintained sector.
