Job description
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a motivated and passionate Science ECT to join a thriving secondary school in Bristol on a full-time, permanent basis from January 2026 . About the Role The successful candidate will teach General Science across KS3 and KS4 , with the opportunity to specialise in a preferred discipline at KS5 as the department continues to expand. You will work closely with a collaborative team of subject specialists committed to fostering curiosity and critical thinking through engaging practical and theoretical lessons. Key Responsibilities Plan, prepare, and deliver inspiring Science lessons aligned with the national curriculum. Support students of varying abilities, ensuring progress for all. Assess and track pupil progress, providing constructive feedback. Contribute to curriculum development and enrichment activities such as STEM clubs and science fairs. Maintain excellent classroom management and uphold the school’s positive ethos. About the School This is a popular 11–18 mixed comprehensive school , rated ‘Good’ by Ofsted , with around 1,200 students on roll. The Science Department is well-equipped with modern laboratories , digital learning tools, and dedicated technicians to support practical work. The school prides itself on nurturing both academic and personal growth, offering new teachers an exceptional induction programme with ongoing CPD and mentorship. Experience and Qualifications Science ECT or Qualified Science Teacher (QTS/PGCE). Strong academic background in Science or related field. Enthusiasm for practical, hands-on learning. Ability to inspire and engage students across all ability levels. Right to work in the UK.
