Job description
School Status & Location Sector: High-Achieving Independent Secondary School (11-18). Borough: Islington (Inner London). Start Date: ASAP, Permanent. The Opportunity & School Profile This successful Islington school is seeking a talented Sociology specialist. The department is immersive and high-achieving, offering a brilliant environment for an educator to foster social awareness and critical thinking that leads to success at the highest levels. Core Responsibilities & Teaching Scope Social Inquiry: Instructing Sociology across Key Stage 4 (GCSE) and Key Stage 5 (A-Level) only. Critical Thinking: Cultivating students' ability to analyse social structures and construct persuasive, evidence-based arguments at an undergraduate level. Mentorship: Supporting students with their Extended Project Qualifications (EPQ) or social science-related university admissions. Compensation & Benefits Essential Requirements: Degree in Sociology or Social Sciences and QTS. Proven success in driving high A-Level results. Salary: Competitive pay on the independent scale reflecting Inner London weighting. Support: Small class sizes for advanced groups and a collaborative, research-led faculty.
