Year 5 Teacher Responsibilities Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging lessons that challenge and inspire Year 5 students. Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment, encouraging students to take ownership of their learning. Regularly assess and track student progress, providing targeted support where needed. Promote the development of key skills in literacy, numeracy, and critical thinking. Work collaboratively with colleagues and support staff to deliver a rich and varied curriculum. Build and maintain strong relationships with parents, ensuring effective communication about student progress and well-being. Contribute to the wider school community by participating in school events, meetings, and ongoing professional development. Year 5 Teacher Requirements Bachelor’s degree in Education or a related field. Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent. Previous experience teaching in Key Stage 2, particularly Year 5. A strong understanding of the National Curriculum and effective teaching strategies. Passionate about engaging and motivating students to achieve their best. Excellent communication skills and a collaborative team player. Committed to ongoing professional development and high standards of teaching.
