Job description
Innovative SENCO – Respected Secondary School – Abingdon – September Start Location: Abingdon | Contract: Full-Time, Permanent | Start Date: September 2025 | Salary: MPS/UPS + TLR A respected and progressive secondary school in Abingdon is seeking an outstanding SENCO to lead on SEND strategy and inclusive provision from September. This is a crucial leadership post that would suit a driven, knowledgeable and compassionate practitioner who is passionate about SEND education and inclusion. The school is high-achieving and has a long-standing reputation for supporting every student to reach their potential, academically and personally. With an ethos rooted in care, curiosity, and challenge, this is a fantastic opportunity for a SENCO to contribute to meaningful whole-school impact. Your Role: You’ll lead a well-established Inclusion Team, overseeing EHCP processes, interventions, and staff CPD. You’ll work closely with pastoral leaders and teaching staff to ensure that classroom practice reflects inclusive strategies and adaptive pedagogy. Liaising with external agencies and families will also form a significant part of the role. You’ll be: Strategically minded, with a deep understanding of SEND Code of Practice Confident in analysing data and identifying emerging trends Committed to whole-school development and culture-building Able to communicate complex needs in a clear, solution-focused way Why This School?
