Psychology and Sociology Teacher - Battersea, Wandsworth 🧠🤝 Analyse the Mind and Society: Dual Specialist Role in Battersea! We are seeking a highly engaging and dynamic Teacher of Psychology and Sociology to join a supportive and high-achieving secondary school in the desirable Battersea area of Wandsworth. This is an excellent opportunity for a dual-specialist educator to inspire students with the complexities of human behaviour and social structures within the Inner London pay zone. Both Psychology and Sociology are highly popular and successful subjects at Key Stage 5, often leading students to top university courses in related fields. Key Responsibilities & Candidate Profile The ideal candidate will be a committed academic with a degree in Psychology, Sociology, or a closely related Social Science , holding QTS , and having proven success teaching both subjects up to the advanced level. In this full-time role, you will: Dual Instruction: Deliver high-quality, rigorous lessons in both Psychology and Sociology across GCSE (KS4) and A-Level (KS5) . Curriculum Expertise: Confidently teach core topics in both disciplines, including social influence, cognitive development, research methods, theory, and contemporary social issues (e.g., crime, families). Critical Thinking: Foster strong analytical, critical evaluation, and essay writing skills, helping students master complex theoretical concepts and research methodologies. Attainment Focus: Utilise data effectively to monitor student progress, provide targeted support, and ensure excellent academic outcomes in public examinations. Collaboration: Contribute actively to the wider Social Science faculty, sharing resources and expertise across both subjects.
