Job description
A prestigious independent day school in Bath is seeking a motivated and enthusiastic PE Teacher to join immediately . The successful candidate will teach PE across KS3–KS5 and contribute to a strong co-curricular and sporting programme. Key Details • Role: PE Teacher (KS3–KS5) • School: Independent (11–18), Bath • Start: Immediate (permanent, full-time) • Suitability: ECTs and experienced teachers considered • Specialisms: One or more sports advantageous About the School The school educates approximately 900 pupils and places a strong emphasis on physical education, wellbeing, and competitive sport. PE is central to school life, supported by excellent facilities including sports halls, fitness suites, and outdoor pitches. The department benefits from strong participation rates, fixtures, and enrichment opportunities. The Role – What You’ll Do • Deliver high-quality PE lessons across KS3–KS5. • Support coaching, fixtures, and extracurricular sport. • Promote healthy lifestyles, teamwork, and resilience. • Contribute to curriculum development and assessment. • Maintain high standards of behaviour, safety, and participation. • Engage fully in the wider life of the school community. Person Specification Essential • Degree in PE, Sport, or a related subject. • QTS/PGCE (or equivalent). • Strong subject knowledge and practical teaching ability. • Commitment to safeguarding and student wellbeing. Desirable • Experience teaching A-Level PE or BTEC Sport. • Coaching qualifications or specialist sport expertise. • Experience leading extracurricular programmes.
