Job description
A successful independent school in Brent, known for its balanced academic and co-curricular provision, requires a dedicated Early Career Teacher (ECT) of Geography for a January 2026 start. Responsibilities Plan and deliver rigorous and stimulating Geography lessons from Key Stage 3 through to GCSE, encouraging advanced analytical skills. Actively engage with the mandated ECF training and mentorship, focusing on core teaching standards and reflective practice. Benefit from the ECT timetable reduction, dedicating time to planning high-quality lessons and engaging in curriculum development. Lead fieldwork opportunities, ensuring practical application of geographical principles and safe practice up to GCSE. Requirements Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) attained by December 2025 (or currently in your first year of induction - ECT1), and a strong degree in Geography. Proven ability to manage a classroom professionally and inspire focused academic effort from students. Seeking a detail-oriented Geography Teacher who is motivated by securing clear, measurable academic outcomes. Willingness to integrate GIS and other modern technologies into teaching practice.
