Job description
A vibrant Mixed School in Hammersmith seeks a dedicated and thoughtful Religious Studies Teacher for a part-time, permanent position. We aim to foster students' spiritual development, religious literacy, and understanding of diverse faith traditions within an inclusive and supportive environment. About Our Learning Community: Our school provides a welcoming and inclusive learning environment with a commitment to fostering critical thinking and respect for diverse perspectives. The RS department is dedicated to delivering a comprehensive and engaging curriculum that encourages theological reflection and interfaith dialogue. About the Role: Deliver engaging and reflective Religious Studies lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4, covering Christian doctrine, scripture, ethics, and a range of world religions. Develop and implement stimulating lesson plans that encourage critical thinking, discussion, and personal reflection on faith and ethical issues. Assess student progress through essays, presentations, and theological reflections, providing constructive feedback to support their spiritual and academic growth. Contribute to the broader ethical and moral education of students within the school. Ideal Candidate: Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) in Religious Studies or Theology. A strong understanding of Christian theology and the secondary RS curriculum, with a broad knowledge of other world religions. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage students in meaningful discussions about faith, ethics, and diverse belief systems. A commitment to fostering a respectful and inclusive learning environment for students of all faiths and none.
