Full-time, Permanent - April 2025 Start Are you a passionate and innovative Teacher of Food Technology with a desire to inspire students to explore the world of food and nutrition? We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic individual to join our thriving Food Technology department in a mixed secondary school in Hammersmith. About the School: Our school is a welcoming and inclusive learning community where students from all backgrounds are encouraged to achieve their full potential. We are committed to providing a high-quality education that fosters a love of learning and prepares students for success in a rapidly changing world. About the Food Technology Department: The Food Technology department is a collaborative and supportive team with a shared passion for food and nutrition. We offer a well-equipped kitchen and a stimulating curriculum that covers a wide range of topics, from basic cooking skills to advanced culinary techniques and healthy eating. About the Role: Teach Food Technology across Key Stages 3 and 4, with the possibility of teaching Hospitality and Catering at Key Stage 5 depending on experience and interest. Plan and deliver engaging and differentiated lessons that cater to a variety of learning styles and abilities. Use a range of teaching methods and resources, including practical cooking sessions, demonstrations, and online resources, to bring Food Technology to life for students. Assess student progress, set targets, and provide constructive feedback to support individual learning journeys. Contribute to the department's curriculum development and resource creation, ensuring that our Food Technology curriculum remains relevant, challenging, and engaging. Foster a love of food and nutrition in students, encouraging them to develop their culinary skills, explore different cuisines, and make informed choices about healthy eating. Work collaboratively with colleagues in the department and across the school to create a cohesive and supportive learning environment. Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance your teaching practice and keep abreast of the latest developments in Food Technology education. Ideal Candidate: Holds QTS or equivalent. Possesses excellent subject knowledge in Food Technology and a passion for food and nutrition. Demonstrates a commitment to teaching and student success. Has strong communication, interpersonal, and classroom management skills.
