Job description
Role Category & Location Sector: Prestigious Independent School (with Sixth Form). Location: Northampton Start Date: Permanent, full-time role commencing January or April 2026. The Opportunity & Role Profile A renowned Independent School seeks a skilled Science Technician specialising in Physics. You will provide high-level technical support for practical lessons up to A-Level, ensuring that sophisticated equipment is maintained and experiments are set up to the highest standards. Core Responsibilities & Duties Scope Physics Specialism: Preparing advanced apparatus for mechanics, electricity, and optics practicals, including the calibration of sensitive sensors. Safety & Maintenance: Adhering strictly to CLEAPSS guidelines and performing regular PAT testing and safety checks on lab equipment. Inventory Control: Managing the Physics department stock and assisting with the procurement of new scientific resources. Compensation & Benefits Essential Requirements: Prior experience in a technical science role or a relevant degree/background in Physics/Engineering.
