Job description
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic English ECT to join a Good secondary school in Cambridge , starting January 2026 . This full-time, permanent post is ideal for a newly qualified teacher ready to make a difference in a supportive and inspiring environment. The Role As an English ECT, you will: Teach English across KS3–KS5, focusing on engagement and skill development. Contribute to the success of an established department with excellent resources. Inspire students to develop confidence, creativity, and analytical ability. Receive structured mentoring and professional support throughout your induction year. About the School The school has a strong reputation for academic success and pastoral care. Recent highlights include: 88% GCSE English grades 9–6. Supportive English faculty with experienced mentors. Focus on developing literacy and communication skills across the curriculum. Candidate Requirements QTS or PGCE-qualified English ECT. Passionate about fostering a love of literature and language. Eager to contribute to extracurricular activities and wider school life. Salary MPS (M1–M2), depending on experience.
