Exciting Opportunity: Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) – Primary School in Southwark Are you an experienced and passionate Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) looking for a new challenge? A well-respected primary school in Southwark is seeking a dedicated HLTA to join their supportive team. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a real impact in the classroom, helping students achieve their full potential and providing tailored support to meet their individual needs. As an HLTA, you will play a key role in supporting teaching and learning across the school. You’ll lead whole-class sessions in the absence of the class teacher, assist in delivering targeted interventions, and help create a positive and engaging learning environment for all students. What You’ll Be Doing: Lead whole-class sessions in the absence of the teacher, delivering pre-planned lessons Provide 1:1 support and small group interventions to help students reach their academic goals Work closely with teachers to plan, prepare, and adapt learning activities Foster a positive, inclusive, and supportive classroom where every student feels valued Support students with social, emotional, and behavioural needs , helping them develop confidence and independence Help assess students' progress and contribute to individual learning plans What We’re Looking For: HLTA qualification or equivalent experience with the ability to lead classes Experience working in a primary school setting A passionate, adaptable, and proactive approach to supporting students’ learning Strong communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with students and staff Commitment to inclusive education and providing tailored support to students with diverse needs Enhanced DBS check required Why Join Us?
