Job description
An Outstanding Secondary School in Harrow is seeking a permanent, full-time ECT Teacher of Religious Studies, starting January 2026. This role is in a strong Humanities department focused on ethical debate and critical inquiry. About the School The atmosphere here is noticeably calm and intellectually stimulating, driven by a shared vision of achieving academic mastery through thoughtful inquiry. The school excels at creating opportunities for student leadership and philosophical debate outside the classroom. New staff are fully integrated into established mentoring structures from day one, reflecting the school's dedication to sustainable, long-term success for all teachers. The focus is on independent and deep thinking across the curriculum, resulting in a culture of holistic excellence. Responsibilities The ECT Teacher of RS will deliver rigorous tuition across Key Stages 3 and 4 (GCSE). The teacher is responsible for driving high attainment and promoting advanced ethical reasoning, philosophical debate, and critical textual analysis for GCSE. They must actively engage with the school's ECT support and mentoring programme. The ECT Teacher of RS is expected to contribute to consistent high academic outcomes and participate proactively in curriculum planning. Requirements Holds or is soon to obtain Qualified Teacher Status (QTS). Has the right to work in the UK. Holds a Degree or has experience teaching Religious Studies. Benefits Excellent salary paid on the Outer London Teachers' Pay Scale (M/UPS), specifically designed to reward ECT progression.
