Full-time, Permanent - September 2025 Start Are you a passionate and engaging Teacher of Sociology with a desire to inspire students to explore the complexities of human societies and social change? We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic individual to join our thriving Sociology department in a well-established secondary school in Richmond. About the School: Our school is a vibrant and inclusive learning community where students are encouraged to develop their intellectual curiosity, critical thinking skills, and understanding of the world around them. We offer a stimulating and supportive environment where students can explore different sociological perspectives, engage with research, and develop their analytical abilities. About the Sociology Department: The Sociology department is a collaborative and passionate team with a shared commitment to fostering students' interest in this fascinating subject. We offer a rigorous and engaging curriculum that covers a wide range of topics, from family and education to crime and deviance. About the Role: Teach Sociology across Key Stages 4 and 5, with the possibility of contributing to PSHE lessons. Plan and deliver engaging and differentiated lessons. Utilize a range of teaching methods and resources, including discussions, debates, case studies, and documentaries. Assess student progress, set targets, and provide constructive feedback. Contribute to the department's curriculum development. Foster a love of Sociology in students. Work collaboratively with colleagues. Participate in professional development opportunities. Ideal Candidate: Holds QTS or equivalent. Possesses excellent subject knowledge in Sociology Demonstrates a passion for teaching Sociology. Has strong communication, interpersonal, and classroom management skills. Is confident in building rapport with students and fostering a positive learning environment.
