Job description
A highly regarded independent school in Slough is seeking an experienced and inspirational Head of Science to lead its successful Science Department on a full-time, permanent basis, starting in April or September. This is a fantastic opportunity for an ambitious science leader to shape curriculum, teaching quality, and academic outcomes within a supportive independent school environment. Head of Science required from April or September Independent school based in Slough Full-time, permanent leadership position The role involves strategic and operational leadership of the Science Department across Biology, Chemistry, and Physics. You will oversee curriculum development, staff performance, and student outcomes, while continuing to teach your specialist subject across KS3–KS5. The successful candidate will play a key role in driving academic excellence and fostering a collaborative departmental culture. Experience and Qualifications QTS and a degree in a Science-related subject Proven experience teaching Science across KS3–KS5 Demonstrable leadership experience within a Science department Strong curriculum knowledge and a track record of excellent outcomes Ability to inspire, mentor, and develop colleagues Commitment to high academic standards and inclusive practice School Information This independent school in Slough is known for its strong academic performance, supportive leadership, and excellent pastoral care.
