Job description
Join a vibrant, multi-cultural Secondary School in Hounslow as an English Teacher from September 2025. This is an opportunity to inspire a love of literature and language among a diverse student body across Key Stages 3-5, fostering critical thinking and communication skills within a supportive learning environment. Our English department emphasizes a range of literary genres and critical perspectives. About the Role: Deliver engaging and challenging English lessons across Key Stages 3-5, following exam specifications and incorporating diverse literary texts and critical approaches. Plan and deliver lessons that foster critical thinking, analytical skills, and communication proficiency, utilizing a variety of teaching methods and resources, including creative writing, drama, and digital media. Assess student progress through essays, presentations, and written work, providing detailed feedback to support their development. Contribute to the development of the English curriculum, integrating current literary trends and critical perspectives, and participate in departmental planning. Organize and lead creative writing workshops, book clubs, and literary events, promoting student engagement and a love of reading. Ideal Candidate: Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with a strong English subject knowledge, including literature, language, and creative writing. Demonstrated experience teaching English to A-Level, with a focus on both literary analysis and communication skills. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and analytical skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate students from diverse backgrounds. Commitment to fostering a love of literature and language.
