Job description
Are you an inspiring Teacher of Religious Education with a passion for exploring faith, belief, and values in a diverse and multicultural context? We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic individual to join our successful RE department in a diverse and inclusive academy in Hayes. This is a full-time, permanent position commencing in September 2025. About the RE Department: The Religious Education department is a collaborative and supportive team with a shared commitment to fostering students' understanding of different religions and worldviews. We offer a stimulating and engaging curriculum that explores a range of religious and philosophical traditions, promoting dialogue and critical thinking. We encourage students to develop their own perspectives on faith and belief and to contribute to respectful discussions on ethical issues. About the Role: Teach Religious Education across Key Stages 3 and 4, with the possibility of teaching at Key Stage 5 depending on experience and interest. Use a range of teaching methods and resources, including discussions, debates, case studies, and guest speakers, to bring RE to life for students. Assess student progress, set targets, and provide constructive feedback to support individual learning journeys. Contribute to the department's curriculum development and resource creation, ensuring that our RE curriculum remains relevant and challenging. Foster an appreciation of different religions and worldviews in students, encouraging them to develop their own beliefs and values in a respectful and tolerant manner. Work collaboratively with colleagues in the department and across the school to create a cohesive and supportive learning environment. Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance your teaching practice and keep abreast of the latest developments in RE education. Ideal Candidate: Holds QTS or equivalent. Possesses excellent subject knowledge in Religious Education . Demonstrates a passion for teaching RE and a commitment to student success. Has strong communication, interpersonal, and classroom management skills. Is confident in building rapport with students and fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment. Has a good understanding of the National Curriculum for RE . Is committed to ongoing professional development and reflective practice.
