Job description
A successful and community-focused secondary school in Kent is seeking an organised and strategic School Business Manager to join the team from January 2026 . The appointed School Business Manager will take responsibility for finance, HR, premises and administration, ensuring effective resourcing and smooth daily operations. A comprehensive induction and handover will be arranged prior to January 2026 to prepare the School Business Manager for the upcoming term. • Permanent full-time School Business Manager role • Busy, well-regarded secondary school in Kent • School Business Manager joining an experienced operations and admin team The School Business Manager will lead on budget management, oversee HR and payroll processes, manage procurement and contracts, and ensure robust compliance across health & safety. The successful candidate will be financially astute, confident managing staff and able to support long-term strategic planning. School information • Large secondary school with strong academic reputation • Supportive SLT and well-defined operational systems • Access to ongoing professional development and training Experience & qualifications – Experience in school business management or a related leadership role – Strong financial reporting and budget planning skills – Knowledge of HR, payroll, premises and compliance – IT literate with strong Excel and finance system experience – Able to start January 2026 and travel to Kent Application To be considered for this School Business Manager position, please send a CV as soon as possible.
