Job description
English ECT required January 2026 Good mixed school based in Stevenage English ECT to join a nurturing and development-focused English department Our Client is seeking an English ECT to join a welcoming and well-organised secondary school in the Stevenage area. This is an excellent opportunity for a newly qualified teacher who is looking for a supportive environment with strong mentoring, structured induction, and clear professional development pathways. The successful ECT will teach English across KS3 and KS4, delivering a curriculum that blends classic literature, contemporary writing, analytical skills, and creative expression. School Information This 11–18 mixed comprehensive educates roughly 1,250 pupils and continues to achieve strong academic performance, with English outcomes consistently above national averages. The English department is known for its collaborative approach, detailed schemes of work, and well-resourced classrooms equipped with digital tools, reading libraries, and structured assessment guides to help ECTs develop confidence quickly.
