Job description
English Teacher – Lead the A-Level Language Course and Develop Advanced Linguistic and Rhetorical Analysis – Hertfordshire A supportive and academically ambitious secondary school in Hertfordshire is seeking an experienced and inspiring Teacher of English with a specialization in English Language and linguistic analysis from January 2026. English Teacher required from January 2026 Hertfordshire-based school with a clear focus on academic mastery in English. Ideal for a teacher passionate about linguistic theory and high-level rhetorical analysis. You will teach English Language and Literature across KS3-KS5, with a leadership focus on the A-Level English Language course. The role includes planning rigorous lessons that deepen critical theory and analytical reading skills, with a focus on preparing students for challenging university-level language study. Experience and Qualifications Qualified Teacher Status ( QTS ) and a relevant degree in English or Linguistics. Experience in a successful secondary school setting is highly advantageous. Demonstrable success in teaching A-Level English Language. Commitment to contributing to the school's academic reading programme.
