Job descriptionWe are seeking a caring, enthusiastic, and dedicated EYFS Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming and inclusive primary school in Putney, starting as soon as possible. As an EYFS Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with the class teacher to support children across the Early Years Foundation Stage. You will assist with learning activities, provide individual support where needed, and help create a positive and structured learning environment that encourages independence, curiosity, and confidence. Key Responsibilities Support the class teacher in delivering high-quality EYFS activities Assist children with learning through play and structured activities Provide one-to-one and small-group support where required Support children’s social, emotional, and behavioural development Encourage early communication, language, and number skills Help create a safe, stimulating, and inclusive learning environment Observe and contribute to assessments of children’s progress Promote positive behaviour, independence, and confidence Support daily routines, transitions, and personal care when required Build positive relationships with children, parents, and staff Contribute to staff meetings, training, and CPD sessions Ensure safeguarding and child protection procedures are followed at all times The Ideal Candidate The successful candidate will: Have experience working in an EYFS or early years setting Be caring, patient, and enthusiastic Demonstrate strong communication and teamwork skills Be proactive, reliable, and adaptable Have a good understanding of the EYFS framework Show a strong commitment to inclusion, safeguarding, and child wellbeing The school is located in Putney, with excellent transport links and a supportive local community.
