🙏 RE Teacher with Responsibility (TLR) – Crawley, Surrey 🌳 Inspire Thought and Debate in a Thriving South East School, Start January 2026 We are seeking an enthusiastic, ambitious, and committed RE Teacher to join the successful Humanities or RE faculty at a high-achieving secondary school/academy in Crawley, Surrey . This is a Full-Time, Permanent Position starting in January 2026 (or sooner). RE Teacher required with responsibility (TLR available) Full-time, Permanent position starting January 2026 High-achieving secondary school in Crawley, West Sussex/Surrey border Teach RE across Key Stages 3, 4, and 5 (KS3/KS4/KS5) The Opportunity The successful applicant will be an inspirational and highly effective RE specialist with a passion for driving academic and philosophical engagement in the subject. This is a significant opportunity for a teacher looking to take the next step in their career, as it comes with a Teaching and Learning Responsibility (TLR) payment . The TLR reflects an essential responsibility within the department, such as Key Stage 4 RE Progress Lead , Ethics and Philosophy Coordinator , or PSHE/SMSC Link Lead . This leadership element is crucial to upholding the high standards of teaching and learning in RE and enriching the students' spiritual, moral, social, and cultural development. The School This is a well-regarded school located near the Surrey border, known for its strong academic results and commitment to developing responsible, ethical citizens. The RE department is a vital part of the school's commitment to a broad and balanced curriculum, offering a programme of open enquiry and rigorous debate. The school provides a supportive, collaborative working environment and offers access to extensive, tailored CPD programmes and clear career progression pathways within the South East region. We Are Looking For: A qualified teacher with QTS (Qualified Teacher Status) . A proven track record as an excellent RE Teacher , with essential experience teaching the subject to Key Stage 5 (A-Level or equivalent) . Strong subject knowledge across theology, philosophy, and ethics. A genuine passion for the subject and the ability to inspire high levels of engagement and critical thinking. The experience or ambition to take on a key area of responsibility within the department. Salary and Benefits Main Pay Scale/Upper Pay Scale (MPS/UPS) for England (Excluding London) (currently £32,916 - £51,048 for 2025/2026). A Teaching and Learning Responsibility (TLR) payment , which in a role of this responsibility typically ranges from £3,527 to £8,611 (likely a TLR 2 dependent on scale). The specific amount will be confirmed based on the final responsibility offered. Excellent, structured professional development and career progression pathways in a commutable South East location.
