Job description
A highly regarded Independent School in East Sussex is seeking an ambitious History Teacher to join their team in January 2026. This is a superb opportunity to contribute to a high-achieving Humanities faculty known for intellectual rigour. About the School The School is a dynamic, successful independent school (Years 7-13) with a strong regional reputation. It provides a focused environment where autonomous and intensive thought is encouraged and holistic excellence is nurtured. Pupil success stems from their engagement with critical historical enquiry. The school is fully committed to every teacher’s development and wellbeing. Responsibilities The History Teacher will deliver high-quality instruction in History across Key Stages 3, 4 (GCSE/iGCSE), and 5 (A-Level). The teacher is responsible for driving high attainment and promoting advanced source analysis, essay construction, and historical debate. They must actively participate in departmental planning and contribute to the school's academic culture. The History Teacher is expected to contribute to consistent high academic outcomes and help prepare students for competitive university entrance. Requirements Holds or is soon to obtain Qualified Teacher Status (QTS). Has the right to work in the UK. Holds a Degree or has experience teaching History.
