Job description
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Year 6 Teacher to join our high-achieving and supportive Primary School in Newham. This permanent role, beginning January 2026, offers an exciting opportunity to make a significant difference during pupils’ final year in primary education. Key Information Position: Year 6 Teacher Start Date: January 2026 Contract Type: Permanent Working Pattern: Full Time, Term Time Only Salary: MPS/UPS (dependent on experience) Suitable for: Experienced or Early Career Teachers (ECTs welcome) About the Role As a Year 6 Teacher , you will lead pupils through an important academic year, helping them prepare for SATs and transition to secondary school. You’ll foster confidence, resilience, and a love of learning while ensuring every child reaches their full potential. Key Responsibilities Plan and deliver engaging and targeted lessons for Year 6 pupils Prepare pupils effectively for end-of-KS2 assessments Support pupils’ emotional and social development Work collaboratively with colleagues and families Contribute to a positive and aspirational school culture What We’re Looking For Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) Strong understanding of the KS2 curriculum and assessment Excellent classroom management and motivational skills A reflective practitioner with high expectations of pupils What the School Offers Supportive leadership and dedicated staff team Motivated and respectful pupils Excellent professional development opportunities A strong culture of achievement and support How to Apply If you are a committed Year 6 Teacher looking for a permanent opportunity in Newham starting January 2026, we would love to hear from you.
