Job description
A highly selective independent senior school in Enfield, known for fostering critical thinking and philosophical debate, seeks a dedicated Teacher of Religious Education (RE) to join their Humanities faculty starting January 2026. Responsibilities Deliver stimulating and academically rigorous RE/Philosophy and Ethics lessons across the secondary range, including GCSE and A-Level. Challenge high-ability students to engage with complex ethical dilemmas and theological arguments. Contribute actively to the school's wider academic life, potentially through leading debating clubs or philosophical societies. Monitor student attainment and provide targeted academic extension and support. Requirements A strong degree in Theology, Philosophy, or Religious Studies and proven success teaching up to A-Level in a selective environment. Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent independent sector experience is preferred. Seeking an intellectually agile professional committed to scholarly standards and the pursuit of truth. Excellent interpersonal skills for engaging with both students and parents.
