Job description
We are working with a welcoming and inclusive primary school in Cambridge that is seeking a talented and enthusiastic Year 5 Teacher to join their team from January 2026 . This is a full-time role , offered initially on a 1-year fixed term contract with the strong potential to become permanent . The school is looking for a teacher who is passionate about Key Stage 2 learning, committed to high standards, and eager to contribute to a vibrant and supportive staff team. Year 5 Teacher Role · Start Date: January 2026 · Full-Time · 1-Year Fixed Term Contract (with potential for permanent placement) The School This Cambridge primary school prides itself on its inclusive ethos, engaging curriculum, and strong community values. Year 5 Teacher Responsibilities · Deliver inspiring, differentiated lessons to engage and challenge Year 5 pupils. · Assess, track, and report on pupil progress in line with school policy. · Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that promotes respect, resilience, and collaboration. · Collaborate with colleagues to plan schemes of work and share best practice. · Build strong relationships with pupils, parents, and staff. · Participate fully in staff meetings, school events, and professional development opportunities. Year 5 Teacher Requirements · Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent. · Experience teaching at Key Stage 2, ideally Year 5. · Strong knowledge of the National Curriculum and assessment frameworks. · Excellent communication and organisational skills. · A team player with a commitment to the school’s ethos and values. · Passionate about inspiring and motivating pupils to achieve their best.
