About the Geography Department: The Geography department is a dynamic and collaborative team with a shared passion for exploring the world's diverse landscapes, cultures, and environments. We believe in the importance of fieldwork and provide students with regular opportunities to experience Geography in action, both locally and further afield. About the Role: Teach Geography across Key Stages 3 and 4, with the possibility of teaching A Level Geography depending on experience and interest. Plan and deliver engaging and differentiated lessons that cater to a variety of learning styles and abilities. Lead and participate in fieldwork trips, both locally and internationally, to enhance students' geographical understanding and skills. Use a range of teaching methods and resources, including fieldwork, ICT, and interactive activities, to bring Geography to life for students. Assess student progress, set targets, and provide constructive feedback to support individual learning journeys. Contribute to the department's curriculum development and resource creation, ensuring that our Geography curriculum remains relevant and inspiring. Foster a love of Geography in students, encouraging them to explore the world around them and develop their understanding of global issues. Work collaboratively with colleagues in the department and across the school to create a cohesive and supportive learning environment. Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance your teaching practice and keep abreast of the latest developments in Geography education. Ideal Candidate: Holds QTS or equivalent. Possesses excellent subject knowledge in Geography . Demonstrates a passion for teaching Geography and a commitment to student success. Has strong communication, interpersonal, and classroom management skills. Is confident in building rapport with students and fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment. Has a good understanding of the National Curriculum for Geography . Is committed to ongoing professional development and reflective practice. Has experience of leading and organizing fieldwork trips.
