We are seeking an exceptional Head of Music to lead and inspire our talented team of musicians and students in an independent school in Westminster. About the School: Our school is a vibrant and forward-thinking independent school, renowned for its commitment to academic excellence, artistic expression, and personal development. We provide a stimulating and supportive environment where students are encouraged to explore their musical talents, develop their creativity, and achieve their full potential. About the Music Department: The Music department is a dynamic and collaborative team with a shared passion for fostering a love of music in our students. We offer a comprehensive and enriching curriculum that covers a wide range of musical styles and traditions, from classical to contemporary. About the Role: Lead and manage the Music department, providing strategic direction and inspiring a shared vision for musical excellence. Oversee the delivery of a high-quality Music curriculum across Key Stages 3, 4 and 5. Lead, motivate, and develop a team of talented music teachers. Oversee the organisation and delivery of a diverse program of extracurricular music activities. Foster a love of music in all students. Manage the department's budget and resources effectively. Build strong relationships with parents and the wider school community. Contribute to the school's strategic development and promote the value of music education. Ideal Candidate: Holds QTS or equivalent. Possesses a degree in Music or a related field. Has a proven track record of successful leadership and management in a music education setting. Demonstrates a passion for music education. Has excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills. Is confident in building rapport with students, staff, and parents.
