Job description
Are you a PE ECT looking for a supportive and energetic environment to launch your teaching career? A Good secondary school in Portsmouth is looking to appoint a PE ECT from January 2026 . This is a full-time, permanent position suitable for an enthusiastic and dedicated teacher keen to promote active, healthy lifestyles. • PE ECT • Full time • January 2026 start • Teaching across KS3/KS4 (KS5 opportunities available) • Excellent facilities and dedicated mentoring School Information This mixed secondary school has a welcoming, inclusive ethos and strong focus on student well-being. The PE department benefits from modern facilities including a sports hall, gym, playing fields, and access to local sports centres. The school offers an extensive ECT support package including mentoring from an experienced PE Lead, weekly coaching sessions, and opportunities to assist with extracurricular sports clubs and events. Experience and Qualifications • Degree in PE, Sports Science, or a related subject • PGCE/QTS or equivalent • Strong organisational and teamwork skills • A passion for encouraging physical activity and resilience in students Salary Paid to scale (M1–M2) on a direct school contract.
