We are seeking an experienced and proactive School Business Manager to join a successful federation of primary schools in Hackney . This full-time, term time only, permanent role offers an exciting opportunity to play a key part in the strategic and operational management of a thriving multi-school federation, supporting excellence in education across the community. School Business Manager Role · Full-Time (Term Time Only) · Permanent Contract · Location: Hackney · Part of a Federation of Primary Schools The Federation This federation brings together several inclusive and high-performing primary schools across Hackney. Working collaboratively, the schools share a strong commitment to raising standards, supporting staff development, and delivering outstanding educational experiences for all pupils. The federation values teamwork, innovation, and a child-centred approach to leadership and learning. School Business Manager Responsibilities · Lead on all aspects of finance, HR, and operations across the federation’s schools. · Manage school budgets, financial planning, and reporting in line with statutory and local authority requirements. · Oversee premises, health and safety, and administrative functions to ensure efficient day-to-day operations. · Support the Headteachers and Senior Leadership Teams with strategic planning and resource management. · Line manage administrative and support staff, ensuring a culture of excellence and collaboration. · Liaise with external partners, suppliers, and local authority services to maintain compliance and value for money. · Contribute to the ongoing development and improvement of federation systems and processes. School Business Manager Requirements · Proven experience as a School Business Manager or in a similar senior administrative or financial role. · Strong financial management, budgeting, and HR knowledge (CIPFA, AAT, or equivalent qualification desirable). · Excellent leadership, communication, and organisational skills. · Ability to work strategically across multiple sites. · Commitment to the federation’s vision of inclusive, high-quality education for all pupils. · Understanding of safeguarding, GDPR, and school compliance frameworks.
