Job description
An academically rigorous secondary school in Leeds requires a highly capable Science Technician committed to providing essential practical support and maintaining a safe laboratory environment from January 2026. Science Technician required from January 2026 Leeds-based school with a rigorous academic focus and high practical engagement. Ideal for a motivated individual with strong organizational skills and a background in Laboratory Practice. The role involves providing comprehensive technical support to the Science teaching team (Physics, Chemistry, and Biology) across KS3–KS5. Key duties include preparing essential practical equipment and materials for lessons, ensuring the safe storage and disposal of chemicals/materials, maintaining apparatus, and undertaking basic administrative tasks for the department. You will be instrumental in the smooth running of the school's well-equipped laboratories. Experience and Qualifications Relevant technical qualification or a degree in a Science subject (Chemistry background highly desirable). Proven experience working in a school or industrial laboratory setting. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, particularly regarding safety regulations. Familiarity with COSHH regulations and safe handling of chemicals. Ability to work effectively and collaboratively within a team.
