Job description
A highly successful and well-established co-educational independent school in the picturesque Richmond area seeks a passionate and knowledgeable Science Teacher with a specialism in Chemistry for a full-time, permanent position commencing in September. The Science department is well-resourced with modern laboratories and a dedicated team focused on fostering a curiosity about the natural world and developing students' scientific literacy. About the Role: Deliver engaging and challenging Science lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4, with a clear focus on Chemistry principles and concepts. Develop and implement stimulating lesson plans that incorporate practical investigations, data analysis, and real-world applications of chemistry. Assess student progress through lab reports, presentations, and written assessments, providing constructive feedback to enhance their understanding of chemistry. Contribute to the development of the science curriculum and participate in departmental initiatives to promote excellence in science education. Ideal Candidate: Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) in Science with a strong background and specialism in Chemistry. A good understanding of the secondary science curriculum and effective teaching strategies for Chemistry. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain complex chemical concepts clearly and engagingly.
