Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) : Pupils may need support to maintain focus, follow instructions, and regulate behaviour. Speech, Language, and Communication Needs (SLCN) : Pupils may require interventions to enhance vocabulary, communication strategies, and confidence in social interaction. Learning Delays or Developmental Differences : Pupils may need scaffolded support in literacy, numeracy, and core subjects. Sensory Processing Needs : Pupils may benefit from classroom adjustments and personalised support to manage sensory sensitivities. Support will be provided in one-to-one sessions , small group activities , or whole-class interventions , depending on the individual needs of each pupil and the strategies outlined by the SENCO. Key Responsibilities Your responsibilities as an SEN TA will include: Delivering personalised support to pupils with SEN, ensuring access to lessons and activities Supporting pupils to engage in learning and achieve academic and personal goals Collaborating with class teachers to adapt teaching methods and resources for individual pupils Implementing strategies outlined in EHCPs, individual support plans, and behaviour plans Supporting pupils with emotional regulation, social skills, and behaviour management Assisting with transitions between lessons, playground supervision, and lunchtime support Observing, recording, and reporting pupil progress and behaviour Providing feedback to teachers, SENCO, and external specialists Supporting pupils with personal care where required, maintaining dignity and respect Encouraging independence while offering structured guidance Contributing to a safe, inclusive, and nurturing school environment This role requires flexibility, patience, and creativity to adapt support strategies for pupils’ varied needs.
