Year 1 Teacher – Join Our Supportive School Community in Merton! Are you a passionate and dedicated teacher looking for an exciting opportunity in Key Stage 1? We are seeking an enthusiastic Year 1 Teacher to join our welcoming school in Merton, starting in April 2025. Role Details Position: Year 1 Teacher Start Date: April 2025 Contract Type: Full-Time, Permanent About the School Located in Merton, our school is a vibrant and nurturing environment where children are encouraged to develop a love of learning. We have a strong focus on early literacy and numeracy, ensuring that every child builds the skills they need to succeed. Our dedicated and supportive team works collaboratively to create engaging and inspiring lessons that make learning fun and meaningful. Your Role as a Year 1 Teacher As our new Year 1 Teacher, you will: ✅ Plan and deliver engaging and creative lessons that support the transition from EYFS to Key Stage 1. ✅ Create a warm and inclusive classroom where all children feel supported and encouraged. ✅ Develop early reading, writing, and numeracy skills using effective and engaging teaching strategies. ✅ Monitor and assess student progress, providing targeted support where needed. ✅ Build strong relationships with parents, carers, and colleagues to ensure every child thrives. ✅ Work collaboratively with the KS1 team to enhance teaching and learning across the year group. What We’re Looking For ✔ A qualified teacher with QTS (or equivalent). ✔ Experience teaching in Key Stage 1, ideally in a Year 1 setting. ✔ A strong understanding of early childhood development and phonics teaching. ✔ A creative and engaging teaching style that excites and motivates young learners. ✔ Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with a willingness to collaborate. ✔ A commitment to creating an inclusive and high-achieving learning environment.
