Job description
We are looking for a dedicated and passionate Year 6 Teacher to join a vibrant and welcoming primary school in Newham, starting in April 2025. This exciting opportunity will allow you to inspire and challenge Year 6 students, preparing them for their transition to secondary school in a nurturing and positive environment. The Role Start Date: April 2025 Location: Newham Contract Type: Full-Time, Permanent The School This inclusive and high-achieving primary school in Newham is committed to providing a supportive and stimulating learning environment where every student can thrive. Key Responsibilities Plan and deliver engaging and differentiated lessons for Year 6 students in line with the National Curriculum. Prepare students for their end of Key Stage 2 assessments, ensuring they feel confident and ready for their next educational steps. Monitor, assess, and report on student progress, providing constructive feedback and setting clear targets for further development. Foster a positive, inclusive, and inspiring classroom that promotes a love for learning. Work collaboratively with colleagues to ensure high-quality delivery of the curriculum and share best practices. Communicate regularly with parents and guardians, providing updates on student progress and addressing any concerns. Participate in school meetings, professional development opportunities, and wider school activities as required. Requirements Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent. Previous experience teaching Year 6 or in a similar primary school setting. Strong knowledge of the National Curriculum and experience preparing students for Key Stage 2 SATs. Excellent classroom management and the ability to motivate students to achieve their best. A passionate, student-focused teacher with a commitment to raising academic achievement. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a team.
