Assistant SENCO – Nurturing Primary School – Southwark Role: Assistant SENCO Nature: Full-Time, Permanent Start: April 2025 or September 2025 Salary: MPS/UPS + TLR A supportive and inclusive primary school in Southwark is seeking a dedicated and experienced Assistant SENCO to join their team. This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate educator to support the school’s SEND provision, working closely with the SENCO to ensure that every child receives the tailored support they need to thrive. Role Highlights: Full-time, permanent position at a well-respected primary school in Southwark Support the SENCO in overseeing the identification, assessment, and support of pupils with SEND Work with teachers and support staff to implement effective SEN strategies and interventions Assist in coordinating EHCPs, one-to-one support, and targeted learning programmes Provide guidance and training to staff on best practices for supporting students with SEND Collaborate with parents, external professionals, and agencies to ensure a holistic approach to student development Monitor student progress, ensuring individual learning plans are effectively delivered Experience & Qualifications: Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) Experience working with students with SEND, ideally in a primary setting Strong understanding of SEN policies, EHCP processes, and intervention strategies Excellent communication, leadership, and organisational skills A proactive and compassionate approach to supporting students and staff National Award for SEN Coordination (or willingness to work towards it) is desirable Enhanced DBS check required Why Join Us?
